A teleconference with Holocaust survivor Nesse Goden has sparked great interest in a senior trip to Washington D.C.. Most of Chesapeake’s seniors participated in a teleconference with Holocaust Survivor Nesse Goden recently. Immediately after the teleconference, many seniors expressed a desire to go see the Holocaust Museum. Mr. Adams made some inquiries and received approval from both Mr. Tucker and Mr. McConnell. Shortly afterward, a representative from the Washington D.C. based, non-profit organization Close-Up came and shared the details of their program. This particular program provides a structured schedule that includes seeing all of the major historical attractions, provocative political debates to help our students become critical thinkers, meeting their congressmen, and chaperones at the hotel all evening. Chesapeake seniors are now preparing fundraisers to raise the money to go at the end of this coming April. Please support those fundraisers when you can and feel free to make a donation to a very worthy cause. You may donate to the group as a whole, or to a particular student.
